New Centerville magistrate reports: July 11

July 12, 2018

The following preliminary hearings are scheduled before District Judge Sandra Stevanus in New Centerville:

Robert James Harbaugh Jr., 28, Casselman Street, Confluence, was charged Tuesday with two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property. His co-defendant, Jessica Nichole Hange, 24, Humbert School Road, Rockwood, was charged with one count of each charge.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, state police were contacted April 27 by a man who said he was told about a woman trying to sell sinks out of the back of a pickup truck in a trailer court in Confluence. He drove to the scene and found two of his sinks in the back of the truck. When he confronted Hange, she fled. The man said he purchased 40 sinks for $250 each from Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and placed them outside his residence in Confluence.

State police stopped Hange on Markleton School Road. Hange told police that Harbaugh told her to sell the two sinks and indicated they would split the money, police said. Harbaugh and his father helped to load the sinks, she said.

Harbaugh’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 16. Hange’s hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 30.
