Yellow vehicle driven over embankment from I-480; woman caught with methamphetamine in hotel room: Brook Park police blotter

Vehicle crash, Interstate 480-West 130th Street: Someone drove a yellow vehicle off I-480 near West 130th, down an embankment and through a metal chain-link fence at about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 1. The unidentified person then drove away but left behind yellow fiberglass vehicle parts.

Larceny-drug possession, Brookpark Road: A Mayfield Village woman, 47, was arrested at about 8:30 p.m. Dec. 14 after police caught her with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in a hotel room at America’s Best Value Inn, 14043 Brookpark.

A man had called police about a gift card stolen from his hotel room. It’s not clear how he was connected to the woman or how his call led to her arrest. The woman was wanted in Lakewood. Police said they waited two months to release the report to the public because detectives were investigating.

Disorderly conduct, South Gallatin Boulevard: An intoxicated Brook Park man, 69, fell down at about 4:35 p.m. Feb. 2 while walking across South Gallatin.

A witness saw it happen and called police. The man had been walking home from Solid Gold Lounge on Snow Road. Police drove the man to Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights because he was cut across the bridge of his nose.

Disorderly conduct, Brookpark Road: A Parma man, 47, was arrested at about 10:45 p.m. Jan. 31 found him intoxicated on Brookpark near Holy Cross Cemetery.

The man had urinated on himself. His pants were unbuttoned and his back was covered in snow. He kept falling down.

Theft, Holland Road: A Holland woman called police Jan. 31 and said she was scammed on Facebook. The woman had purchased $3,500 in iTunes and Amazon gift cards and mailed them to a fake lottery game she found on the internet.

Theft, Pemberton Drive: A car jack, 3-ton jack stands, torches and a compressor hose were reported stolen at about 12:30 p.m. Feb. 3 from an unlocked garage. The victim told police he didn’t know when the theft occurred.

Control of a vehicle while under the influence, Starlite Drive: A Strongsville man, 23, was arrested at about 2:20 a.m. Feb. 1 after police found him slumped over and unconscious behind the steering wheel of a parked vehicle outside Holland Gardens Apartments, 13304 Starlite.

The vehicle was in reverse gear, the engine was running and the man had his foot on the brake. He failed field sobriety tests.

Criminal simulation, Snow Road: A fake $50 bill was used to buy food at about 7 p.m. Feb. 1 from Great Wall in Parma Heights.

Great Wall delivered the food to a man, later identified as a 49-year-old Cleveland resident, at Howard Johnson at Wyndham on Snow Road in Brook Park. Police are looking for the man.

Sudden illness, Snow Road: A North Ridgeville woman, 27, was taken to Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights at about 10:20 p.m. Feb. 1 after she overdosed on heroin at Howard Johnson at Wyndham, 16644 Snow. The woman’s boyfriend found her unconscious and called police.
