Aiken Regional Medical Centers will celebrate cancer patients on Friday

October 4, 2018

Aiken Regional Medical Centers is celebrating Cancer Survivor’s Day on Friday, Oct. 5, this year.

“This is a great way to celebrate the patients in our community, the extensive treatment they have endured and milestones that have been achieved,” said Brent Slack, director of the Cancer Care Institute of Carolina.

Patients of the Cancer Care Institute of Carolina and their family members will be able to attend ARMC’s 23rd annual Cancer Survivor’s Day luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cancer Care Institute at 111 Miracle Drive. Patients of the institute with all stages and types of cancer will be welcome.

Guests at the luncheon will be treated to a free lunch, a story on cancer survival and entertainment.

“It’s also a great way to connect them directly with other survivors who can relate to their story, and to show them that even after their treatment is complete we’re still here for them,” Slack said.
