Drums Man Stole From The United States

A Drums man admitted to stealing from the United States over a period of two years, court information says. Gregory Ciego, 35, of Drums, pleaded guilty Friday, to a criminal information charging him with theft of government property for stealing $1,000 between January 2016 and January 2018. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced the plea Monday. U.S. Attorney David J. Freed said Ciego made gasoline purchases using a credit card issued by the United States Navy. This case was investigated by the Office of the Inspector General and the United States Naval Criminal Investigative Services. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alisan VanFleet is prosecuting the case. The maximum penalty under federal law for theft of government services is one year of imprisonment, a one-year term of supervised release and a $100,000 fine. — STAFF REPORT
