HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP Law and Weston volleyball teams advance in Class M

The Law and Weston girls volleyball teams won their Class M quarterfinal games Friday night to set up a match in the semifinals next week.

Eleventh-seeded Law swept Nonnewaug, 3-0. Katie Eighmy had seven kills, three digs and three aces and Pam Ellison added 13 digs and one ace for Law, which won 25-8, 25-18 and 25-23.

Kate Anderson had 26 kills, nine points, six blocks and two aces and Jordan Baisley chipped in 22 points and 18 digs for the 18th-seeded Trojans, who defeated Granby Memorial in five sets (19-25, 27-25, 25-14, 25-21 and 17-15).

Law and Weston will play each other in the semifinals on Tuesday at a site and time to be determined.
