ST. LOUIS (AP) — A 42-year-old St. Louis man who was part of a group caught with nearly 27 kilograms (59.52 pounds) of fentanyl has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The U.S. Attorney’s office said Walter Justiniano was sentenced Tuesday. He pleaded guilty in July to conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute more than 400 grams of fentanyl.
KSDK reports Justiniano was one of nine people arrested on drug charges in 2017. According to court records, seven people were indicted on fentanyl-related charges and two people were indicted on cocaine-related charges.
Investigators said the drugs were coming from Los Angeles and Justiniano intended to distribute them in the St. Louis area.
