Eversource pushes to improve grid reliability
Eversource will have a helicopter surveying utility lines across the state for a week in an effort to improve grid reliability for its customers.
The most recent portion of this ongoing effort is scheduled to begin Friday and run until the following Friday, Nov. 30. All flights are weather-permitting and will take place between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The helicopter is equipped with advanced survey gear to create high resolution, 3D images of transmission line rights of way in Connecticut. The images the company collects during the flights go toward helping engineer system reliability improvements.
Residents can spot the helicopter by its blue and yellow coloring. The tail number is N803JB.
