Skeletal Remains Identified As 20-year-old Suicide Victim
SCRANTON — The skeletal remains found Friday in Dickson City have been positively identified as a 20-year-old Scranton man who was last seen by his family more than a month ago.
The man’s death was ruled a suicide by Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland. Rowland said the victim died as the result of a gunshot wound to the head.
The Times-Tribune does not identify victims of suicide in most cases.
Dental records confirmed the victim’s identity.
The victim’s family filed a missing persons report with the Scranton Police Department on Sept. 18, having not seen him for a month, Police Chief Carl Graziano said.
The victim’s family asked him to leave home because of his behavioral issues, the chief said.
An ATV rider discovered the victim in some woods near the 1100 block of Commerce Boulevard on Friday.
