ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Antonio Dudley put back his own miss with 2.5 seconds remaining to give Alabama A&M a 76-75 triumph Saturday over South Carolina State.

With Alabama A&M (3-1) trailing 75-74, Antonio Graham drove the lane only to have his shot blocked by Raheem Waller.

Dudley grabbed the loose ball and missed a short shot, then dropped through his own rebound to hand South Carolina State coach Cy Alexander his first opening-day loss in 11 years at the school.

Terrence Vanlier, whose 3-pointer tied the contest 74-74 with 50 seconds left, led Alabama A&M with 18 points. Michael Stewart added 13 points and Graham finished with 12.

Waller led four South Carolina State players in double figures with 19 points. Tyler Brown added 15 points, Burnett had 14 and Roderick ``Moo Moo″ Blakney 11.

South Carolina State led by as many as 16 points in the first half, but Alabama A&M used an 18-7 run after intermission to pull within 66-65 with 5:16 left.

Vanlier’s 3-pointer from the left corner finally tied the score 74-74. Blakney was fouled on South Carolina State’s next trip downcourt, but hit just one of two free throws with 22 seconds left.
