Warrant sweep nets 16 arrests

HUNTINGTON - Sixteen people were arrested Monday during a targeted warrant sweep executed by the Huntington Police Department in conjunction with U.S. Marshals.

The majority of the arrests were high-value targets from ongoing criminal investigations, according to a press release.

“We are sending a clear message that we’re working with U.S. Marshals, and you will be arrested no matter where you flee,” Huntington Police Chief Hank Dial said.

The arrests resulted in the seizure of $3,000 cash, two firearms, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, marijuana and a vehicle.

Two people were arrested on out-of-state charges - one out of Maryland and one out of Ohio - and they will be extradited. One person was also arrested by U.S. Marshals in Detroit in connection with an armed robbery in Huntington.

Thirteen of the arrested individuals were named as of press time Monday:

Joseph Alexander Bails, 28, is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver. Bond was not set.

Joseph Michael Holley, 39, is charged with felony burglary. Bond was not set.

Tossie Michael Skaggs, 36, is charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor battery. Bond was set at $25,000.

Hakeem Rashad Mack, 25, is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bond was set at $25,000.

Andre Maurice Meredith, 44, is charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $50,000.

Jeremy Calderon, 34, is charged with felony abuse of the elderly. Bond was not set.

Shannon Deon Monroe Jr., 20, is charged with felony robbery. Bond was not set.

Dre’Onna Brown, 18, is charged with felony fleeing and possession with intent to deliver. Bond was set at $30,000.

Frank William Manilla, 34, is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bond was not set.

De’juan De’vel Williams, 38, is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bond was set at $25,000.

Travis Johnathan Shepherd, 24, is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, unlawful taking of a vehicle (misdemeanor) and DUI (misdemeanor).

Ryan Edwards is charged with felony aggravated robbery and felony grand larceny.

William Nicks is charged with felony forgery.

Booking information for Edwards and Nicks was not available as of press time Monday.
