Westbrook’s Monday Night Strikers
This week, our featured league is the Monday Night Strikers at Westbrook Lanes.
Gail Bomar, the league secretary, says they have a 10-team league that bowls 34 weeks. The winners of each half will meet to determine the league champion.
Last season, the Space Cadets claimed the league title. Connie Krzycki, Jeanne Oakley, Harriette Janicek, Marge Payzant, Joni Ebel, Diane Hoenk and Bomar form the Space Cadets.
At the start of league play, HillCrest Farms sat in first place with a 16-4 record. Connie Wachal, Deb Gonsior, Connie Jedlicka, Carolyn Hoppe and Luann Vavricek make up the HillCrest Farms team.
Advocare Avengers and Ginger Moon Insurance hold the top team scores. Advocare has the high team game with an 848. Joyce Sohl, Jeanette Frisch, Joan Davidshofer, Paige Sohl and Shawna Woosley form the Advocare Avengers.
Ginger Moon Insurance holds the high team series with 2364. Ginger Moon, Karen Lesiak, Bernie Podraza, Sue Medinger and Diana Lippstreu make up the Ginger Moon team.
On the individual side, Woosley owns all three honors. 246 high game, 666 high series and the league-high average of a 200.
Following league play on Oct. 1, Advocare Avengers shot new season highs for both team game and series with an 876 and 2498 respectively. Woosley had the high game with a 225, along with the high series with a 661.

Eleven other bowlers shot games that were at least 30 pins over average. Michelle Gray’s 167 (+49). Linda Rieck’s 203 (+41). Jackie Rivera’s 142 (+39). Kelly Wennekamp’s 158 (+37). Amy Marik’s 126 (+36). Lippstreu’s 203 (+35). Moon’s 183 (+34). Podraza’s 175 (+32). Mary Paddock’s 180 (+30). Lesiak’s 177 (+30). Garnet Goedeken’s 147 (+30). Nice bowling to one and all.
