Booze banned on trains St. Patrick’s Day weekend

March 15, 2019

For this St. Patrick’s Day weekend, Metro-North will not permit alcoholic beverages on trains, platforms or at stations.

It’s one of three days when booze is banned. The other days are SantaCon in early December and New Year’s Eve.

“On Saturday through Sunday, March 17, for travel to/from the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, to maintain orderly travel for customers, Metro-North will not permit alcoholic beverages on trains, platforms or at stations. Any alcoholic beverages found by MTA Police will be confiscated. Customers could experience crowded conditions due to heavy travel.”

The NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade can be viewed along 5th Avenue between 44th Street and 79th Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For details on the parade, click here
