Brat or nyat in Milford this weekend
MILFORD-It’s brat or nyat in Milford as the Devon Rotary club celebrates the 30th anniversary of Oktoberfest.
The event will run two days this year and begin at 5 p.m. Friday with free admission during a Happy Hour that will last until 6 p.m. at Fowler Field’s Rotary Pavilion behind the library. The Milford Bank is sponsoring the event.
After that there will be entertainment until 10 p.m. performed by the Blue Collar Band and the Elwoods.
At 9:30 a.m. Saturday people may register for the first annual Run Then Chug 5K Race which will take joggers, walkers and skippers on a 3.1 mile loop through downtown. First 200 get a T-shirt and all who register get a free beer. Prizes will be awarded afterwards
\The race will start at 11 a.m. and is sponsored by Milford Point Brewing Co.
The Pavilion will begin serving any one of 60 seasonal beers and bratwurst beginning at noon and running until 9 p.m. In addition to German bands and dancers, Alpaka Gnomes and Rum Runners will perform.
General admission tickets are $10. A VIP ticket is $30. It includes admission, a beer and two wine tasking tickets.
