Absentee Ballots Available
TEWKSBURY -- Absentee ballots for the Tuesday, Sept. 4 state primary election are available at the Tewksbury Town Clerk’s Office.
Registered voters can cast an absentee ballot if they will be out of town during the election, if they have a physical disability preventing you from getting to the polls or because of a religious belief.
Requests for absentee ballots must be submitted in writing by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31. Official absentee ballot applications can also be picked up at the clerk’s office.
The clerk’s office is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 978-640-4355.

Specialists open office in Littleton
LITTLETON -- Emerson Hospital opened new offices for specialty physicians next to its urgent-care center at The Point shopping center.
Patients can now schedule appointments in the Littleton location with physicians specializing in orthopedic surgery, podiatry, spine treatment and weight-loss surgery. All of the physicians are affiliated with Emerson Hospital.
Access to the physician offices is available by entering through the urgent-care center’s front door.

Car wash helps WHS football
WILMINGTON -- A fundraising car wash is set to benefit the Wilmington High School football teams on Sunday, Aug. 12.
The car wash will take place in the parking lot of the Fourth of July Committee building, located at 142 Middlesex Ave., from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The football players will be washing cars for donations that day.

Sidewalk project in 2nd phase
WILMINGTON -- The town’s Department of Public Works will be beginning phase two of sidewalk work on Lawrence Street Wednesday, weather permitting. The sidewalk project will be taking place on Lawrence Street, between Hamlin Lane and Shady Lane Drive.
The drainage cross culvert will be replaced between 50 and 52 Lawrence St. That work should take a few days to complete. Residents who live south of the culvert will be rerouted to use Glen Road and residents who live north of the culvert will use Shady Lane Drive.
The DPW will also begin grinding and paving Salem Street and Ballardvale Street from the Tewksbury line to Route 125 on Thursday. Drivers should use alternate routes.

Free paper shredding available
TYNGSBORO -- Digital Federal Credit Union will host a free paper shredding event from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Tyngsboro branch located at 378 Middlesex Rd.
According to a release, two giant paper shredding trucks will be onsite for the public to destroy sensitive documents containing personal information, account information, and financial statements that are no longer needed. The event will be held rain or shine.
