ROSEMEAD, Calif. (AP) _ The body of a 17-year-old boy was found miles from where he was swept away by raging waters, a day after the bodies of his sister and another teen-ager were recovered.
Raul Nahle, 17, was found Thursday, several miles from where he was caught up in a powerful runoff in a storm channel. His sister, 14-year-old Dulce Natalia Castruita, and 14-year-old Griselda Gallo were found dead Wednesday. All three were from Rosemead, 11 miles east of Los Angeles.
The three were among five San Gabriel High School students who had been walking down the nearly dry Alhambra Wash on Wednesday when sudden rain sent a torrent of water surging after them.
Two were rescued from the water. The dead were found several miles away at the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area.
Wednesday’s storm hit Southern California at dawn with often heavy rain.
