From the Santa Fe New Mexican

Dec. 15, 1968: A young College of Santa Fe student is in serious condition with a possible cerebral contusion and basal skull concussion in the wake of a gang fight here early Saturday morning.

William L. Sullivan, 24, of Hartford, Conn., who completed requirements to graduate from the college last week, was struck on the head with a large timber about 2 a.m. Saturday in a scuffle at the intersection of Canyon Road and the Loop.

Dec. 15, 1993: ALBUQUERQUE — The Archdiocese of Santa Fe will ask parishioners to contribute more money to weekly collection baskets in an effort to pay off settlements in lawsuits alleging sexual abuse by priests, Chancellor Ron Wolf said late Tuesday.

“We’re trying to establish what do we really have financially to settle the cases from diocese reserves, parishes and selling out property,” Wolf said. “We’re trying to raise this pool of dollars to be used to settle all cases across the board.”
