Night Out returning to Somerset
The Somerset Borough Police Department is preparing for its annual Somerset Night Out.
This year’s event is scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Union Street Playground. The event focuses on crime and drug use prevention. Admission is free.
“It’s an opportunity to meet local leaders, criminal justice representatives, local businesses and organizations, and your friends and neighbors,” said organizer Officer Justin Evans. “It’s a great event that helps strengthen and support community and law enforcement relationships.”
The event will feature a demonstration by the police department’s motorcycle unit, free food, music by Dan Graboski and the Glory Guys and other entertainment. Various agencies and businesses, such as Tableland Services and the Twin Lakes Center, will have tables set up at the event.
“We are looking forward to it again this year and expecting a good turnout,” he said.
Evans said he would like to thank all the local organizations and businesses that have participated and continue to participate in Somerset Night Out. He said he wants to give a special thanks to Sharon and the volunteers at Village Way for making the event possible.
