Shhh! The secret ingredient is passion fruit
LAUGHLIN —This year’s Chefs Food Fest secret ingredient is the passion fruit. That is according to a not-so-secret communique from the Laughlin Nevada Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
This is the third year since the secret ingredient has been introduced in 2017; this is the first year for a “best use of secret ingredient” award.
At least one of the chefs’ dishes must include passion fruit in order to be judged at the event.
Other award categories are best booth, best food, best dessert and best cocktail. The Colorado Belle and Edgewater won the best food trophy last year.
The 32nd Annual Chefs Food Fest takes place at the Aquarius Casino Resort on June 6. It has been a sellout event for 31 years. Tickets for this year still are available.
Tickets are $75 per person or $750 to reserve a table of 10. The event has assigned seating and if you wish to sit next to family or friends, option two is best.
All attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
The overall theme of the event for 2019 is “Flavors of the Islands” following last years theme of “Flavors of the South.”
Chefs Food Fest will have a live charity auction with proceeds going to the River Fund, Inc. The Laughlin Nevada Chamber of Commerce is accepting charity auction donations and sponsorships.
To purchase tickets, inquire about sponsorship or donor opportunities or for more information, visit or call the Laughlin Chamber at 702-298-2214.
“It’s the most anticipated food event of the year,” said Val Gabaldon, executive assistant at the Laughlin Chamber.
