November 11, 2018

LOWELL -- A 29-year-old Lowell man has been taken into custody for stabbing a man in the city’s Acre neighborhood Saturday night, authorities say.

Police charged Jonathan Ramos, of 5 Hampshire Place, with armed assault with intent to murder and armed assault in a dwelling, according to Lowell police Capt. James Hodgdon.

The unidentified victim was transported to Lowell General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Hodgdon said.

Several Lowell police cruisers, a paramedic and an ambulance flooded to Garin Terrace shortly before 8 p.m. following reports of an armed assault inside 19 Garin Terrace.

The victim suffered a single stab wound to his abdomen.

Police identified Ramos as a suspect shortly after the incident and arrested the 29-year-old at his house in the city’s Centralville neighborhood Saturday night.

Ramos is scheduled to be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Monday.
