Oduro Leads Fitchburg at Holiday Challenge

ROXBURY -- The Fitchburg High School boys’ and girls’ track teams were in action this past weekend the Reggie Lewis Center.

Senior Evans Oduro represented the Fitchburg boys at the Boston Holiday Challenge on Friday, playing seventh in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.01 seconds and taking 10th in the long jump with a distance of 20 feet.

On the girls’ side, Elle Scott placed eighth in the 300 at 44.08. Emerson Scott finished 16th in the 55 hurdles (8.58) and 25th in the 600 (1:51.68) and teammate Olamide Bamgbose took 26th in the long jump (14-6.25) and 54th in the 55-meter dash (8.15).

Then, at Saturday’s MSTCA Distance Classic, Fitchburg sophomore Lina Kherallah ran a personal-best time in the 1,000 meters (3:27.73), placing 19th. She also ran an excellent 2-mile, finishing in 13:14.26 to place 21st.
