Point of Interest: Construction continues for Stamford Popeyes

448 W. Main St.: While Chick-Fil-A and the city battle over whether the chicken sandwich joint can open in Bull’s Head, another fast food chicken restaurant is under construction. Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurant is rising on three-quarters of an acre lot — long vacant and appraised at more than $1 million last year — on West Main Street. It is unclear when the restaurant will open. The chain has not responded to requests for more information. The chain operates 22 restaurants in Connecticut, including one that recently opened in Norwalk, and nearly 3,000 in the U.S.
