Great Lakes Brewing Co. to release special Stout for 30th anniversary

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Great Lakes Brewing Co.’s 30th Anniversary Imperial Oyster Stout will be available Monday, Aug. 20.

The Stout, which celebrates the brewery’s pearl anniversary, was made with fresh shucked oysters, cacao nibs and salt. It is 11 percent alcohol. The brewery suggests pairing it with aged cheese and chocolate cake – the latter especially being a common pairing with a good Stout.

The 22-ounce bottles cost $9.99 and are screen-printed with a bathymetric map of Lake Erie.

The ale will be available in the retail market as well as the brewery. The gift shop opens at 10 a.m. The brewpub opens at 11:30 a.m.

Great Lakes is at 2516 Market Ave., Cleveland.

The brewery – the state’s first and largest craft brewery – was founded in 1988 by Pat and Dan Conway. Here’s more on Great Lakes’ 30th anniversary and where the brewery stands in the market today.
