Traffic stalled 2 hours after Amtrak train crashes into big rig near Missouri City
Traffic was shut down for two hours on U.S. Highway 90 near Beltway 8 in Missouri City after an Amtrak train crashed into a tractor-trailer and derailed Friday, Sept. 21.
Police were dispatched around 1:35 p.m. to the intersection of Cravens Road and U.S. Highway 90 to investigate the crash. Police officials report the truck was on the tracks when the collision occurred. There were 71 passengers on the train, which was headed to New Orleans at the time.
No injuries were reported. Police officials say the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
