August 3, 2018

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- One person died and five people were injured Wednesday night in a three-vehicle crash on Patrick Highway near Antioch Church.

The crash happened when a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer that was south bound on Patrick Highway sideswiped a north-bound 2006 Jeep and then ran head-on into a 2004 Pontiac, said Cpl. Sonny Collins, South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver of the Blazer, identified by Darlington County Coroner J. Todd Hardee as Amanda Hekking, 36, of Darlington County, died at the scene of the crash.

The four occupants of the Jeep along with the one occupant of the Pontiac were transported for treatment of their injuries, Collins said.

Collins said no charges are expected in the crash.

Hardee said the investigation into the crash will continue by his office and the Patrol.
