Nebraska-Omaha Coach Won’t Be Back
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ Kevin Lehman, with only two winning seasons in six years, will not return as basketball coach at Nebraska-Omaha of Division II.
The Mavericks were 9-17 this season, including 3-15 in the North Central Conference. Lehman was 72-91 in six years.
Athletic director Bob Danenhauer said he respected Lehman’s work and commitment.
``However, the men’s basketball program has not made significant progress toward being a championship contender in the North Central Conference,″ Danenhauer said. ``It’s time for a change in order for UNO to step up to the next level.″
Lehman will remain an instructor in health and physical education, Danenhauer said.
The school will begin a national search for a coach.
