Land O’Lakes Recalls Margarine
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (AP) _ Land O’Lakes issued a voluntary recall Saturday for some Land O’Lakes brand margarine in stick form, saying it may contain pieces of metal.
There have been no reports of consumers finding metal in the product, and the majority of the product already has been recovered or placed on hold, the company said.
Consumers who have purchased the margarine should return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
The margarine that may be affected would have been purchased after May 25 in 14 states or Washington, D.C., the company said. The states included are Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
The product being recalled has one of the following five code dates: 02 16 01 KE10, 02 17 01 KE10, 02 18 01 KE10, 02 19 01 KE10 and 02 20 01 KE10. The code date is printed in black ink on the package end flap.
