Police seek 5 masked men in Bronx business burglaries
NEW YORK (AP) — New York police are looking for a group of five men who have broken into at least eight Bronx businesses by cutting holes in the back of the buildings.
Authorities say the masked crew has stolen more than $160,000 from safes and ATMs at seven supermarkets. They also looted the cash register at one restaurant.
The first burglary attributed to the group happened Sept. 1. Authorities said the most recent break-in was Dec. 12 when the men stole $21,000 from an ATM inside a C-Town Supermarket.
Police released surveillance images Thursday morning that show the unidentified men wearing hoodies and masks during the burglaries. Authorities did not provide additional descriptions of the men.
It was not clear which tools were used to cut the holes in the businesses.
