Traffic stop leads to arrest of three people on drug charges

IRONTON: The following information was compiled from Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office reports:

DRUG MANUFACTURING: Following a traffic stop Sunday, a sheriff’s deputy arrested three people on drug charges. Nathan T. Murphey, 37, of the 600 block of 10th Street, Huntington, was charged with drug manufacturing and possession of drugs. Justin R. Walters, 30, of Greenup, Kentucky, was charged with possession of drugs and his wife, Tiffany D. Williamson-Walters, 27, of Chesapeake, also was charged with possession of drugs. All three were transported to jail.

DRUG POSSESSION: Following a traffic stop Saturday, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Jamie Carsen Hicks, 42, of Spencer, West Virginia, on a charge of possession of meth and transported him to jail.

THEFT: A South Point area man reported last week that he paid $5,000 to a man to pour concrete for a driveway in December and the work hasn’t been completed.

MISDEMEANOR ESCAPE: Two juveniles from the Lawrence County Group Home north of Ironton left the juvenile detention center without consent last week. A 13-year-old from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and a 15-year-old from Portsmouth were listed as missing from the group home.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN: A 29-year-old Ironton area man was treated Saturday for a drug overdose. He told authorities he snorted heroin before he was taken to King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland for treatment.

ENDANGERING CHILDREN: A 28-year-old Huntington woman was treated with Narcan after being found in a vehicle unresponsive with a child in the back seat. She was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Responding to a domestic call, a sheriff’s deputy arrested a 46-year-old Proctorville area man after he admitted pushing his estranged wife to the ground and punching her in the face. The woman was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment following a fight between the two.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Responding to a domestic call, a sheriff’s deputy arrested a 23-year-old Crown City area man and a Liberty, West Virginia, area woman on misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and transported them to jail.
