Nearly $15k in sports memorabilia stolen

January 4, 2019

STEWARTVILLE — A collector of sports memorabilia had approximately $14,500 worth of items taken from his home sometime in December.

Olmsted County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence in the 2100 block of Petersen Drive Northwest around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to Capt. Scott Behrns.

The 47-year-old man reported that sometime between Dec. 13 and that evening a large number of items were taken, including 10 autographed Vikings jerseys, 40 autographed Twins jerseys, 120 autographed baseballs, 10 rare baseball cards, $300 in cash, four gold coins valued at $2,250 and other collectible items, Behrns said.

The man does not live at the home full-time but a relative does, Behrns said. There were no signs of forced entry.

The incident is under investigation.
