MILAN, Italy (AP) _ The heavyweight title fight of the newly estabilished World Boxing Organization (WBO) between South African Johnny Du Plooy and unbeaten Italian Francesco Damiani definitely will be held in Siracusa, Sicily, on May 6, organizers announced Wednesday.

Damiani will decide after the world bout whether he will defend or vacate his European heavyweight title, his manager, Umberto Branchini, said. The Italian boxer is unbeaten in 23 professional fights.

SYDNEY, Australia (AP) - Unbeaten Australian Renato Cornett held Mexican veteran Bruno Rabanales to a 10-round draw in an international super- featherweight boxing match Wednesday night at Rooty Hill.

Rabanales knocked Cornett to the canvas four times during the contest, but the Australian, ranked 11th in the division by the International Boxing Federation, rallied and finished strongly to earn a draw.

All three judges were Australian. Mick Benetto had it 95-95, Des Bloyd 95-94 for Cornett and Trevor Christian 95-94 for Rabanales.

Cornett’s record is 15-0-1, while Rabanales is 20-6-2.

Rabanales weighed right at the 130-pound limit, while Cornett was one- quarter pound lighter.
