NEW YORK (AP) _ Stocks that were moving substantially or trading heavily Friday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market.

Clear Channel Communications Inc., down $1.16 at $32.75

The radio and advertising company lost $4.7 billion in the fourth quarter due to a one-time accounting charge to comply with federal requirements.

H&R Block Inc., up $4.46 at $51.50

The company’s client base and revenue-per-client grew in the most recent quarter, although it also had an expected slide in profits.

The Washington Post Co., down $17.52 at $908.98

The newspaper and media company saw its profits rise 21 percent for the quarter, but missed Wall Street forecasts by 19 cents per share.

NASDAQ

Microsoft Corp., down 12 cents at $25.25

European antitrust regulators met with the company’s rivals to ensure the software giant is complying with the European Union’s ruling against it.

Synaptics Inc., up $3.32 at $24.33

The company revealed in a regulatory filing that its touchpad technology will be used in future generations of Apple Computer Inc.’s iPod music players.

Tekelec, down $2.65 at $17.04

The communications equipment maker posted an 82 percent jump in fourth-quarter profits, but still failed to meet Wall Street’s expectations.
