Police: Missing NYC teacher’s body found in upstate NY
NEW YORK (AP) —
Police say the body of a New York City teacher who was missing for over a week has been found in a wooded area in upstate New York.
Forty-six-year-old Keith Johnson had last been seen on May 4 at his Queens school.
Police in Shandaken, in Ulster County, say they got word on Saturday that he might have been hiking in the area.
After his car was found at the Woodland Valley trailhead, authorities searched the area and found Johnson some miles away.
There was no word on the cause of death, but police say foul play is not suspected.
This story has been corrected to show that car was found a few miles away at Woodland Valley trailhead, not in a town south of Albany. APNewsNow.
