Burglary

Watseka police arrested Jeremiah Walker, 40, of Watseka, on Dec. 29 for burglary, theft of $300, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to real property. According to a release, Walker was arrested after an investigation into a burglary of a local business.

DUI

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Terrence L. Coleman, 41, of Chicago, for driving under the influence of alcohol on Jan. 2. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Kankakee County at 12:33 a.m. observed a vehicle stopped on the right shoulder of Illinois Route 17 at 4000E Road. Coleman showed signs of alcohol impairment. Coleman was issued a ticket for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Bradley police arrested James Williams Jr., 24, of Kankakee, on Jan. 1 for aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood/breath alcohol content of .08 or more and no valid driver’s license. According to a report, an officer pulled over a vehicle Williams was driving for a traffic violation. He blew a .156 on a preliminary breath test after field sobriety testing. At the station, a Breathalyzer test resulted in a .154 result.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Nicholas V. Dohman, 22, of Manteno, on Jan. 1 for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to a release, a trooper was dispatched at 4:40 a.m. to a vehicle in the ditch on U.S. Route 24 at 300E Road in Iroquois County. Dohman showed signs of alcohol impairment. Dohman was issued tickets for improper lane usage, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Bradley police arrested Alec S. Rowden-Wilson, 25, of Sauk Village, on Dec. 31 for driving under the influence of alcohol and battery. According to a report, police were dispatched to Casey’s General Store, 311 S. Kinzie Ave., for two intoxicated men. According to a report, the two men were sitting in a vehicle at a gas pump. Rowden-Wilson got out from the driver’s front seat. The officer smelled alcohol on Rowden-Wilson’s breath. Rowden-Wilson became combative and had to be placed into the squad car. A judge released him on a $5,000 recognizance bond for the DUI. On the battery, a judge released him on another $5,000 recognizance bond.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Chasity U. Lee, 24, of Champaign, on Dec. 29 for possession of cannabis (more than 100 grams but less than 500 grams). According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Kankakee County at 3:38 a.m. observed a vehicle speeding and traveling all over the road on Schuyler Avenue at South Tec Drive. A search of the vehicle revealed cannabis. Lee was issued tickets for speeding, improper lane usage and expired registration.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Julius E. Burkes, 39, of Kankakee, on Dec. 29 for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Kankakee County at 1:32 a.m. was dispatched to a crash on Illinois Route 1/17 at 500N Road. Burkes showed signs of alcohol impairment. Burkes was transported to Riverside Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Burkes was issued tickets for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Rudy E. Bauer, 51, of Manteno, on Dec. 29 for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Kankakee County at 12:20 a.m. observed a vehicle speeding and traveling all over the roadway on Illinois Route 50 at 6000N Road. The trooper stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Bauer. Bauer showed signs of alcohol impairment. Bauer was issued tickets for speeding, improper lane usage and failure to signal when changing lanes.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Philip J. Gray, 54, of Lockport, on Dec. 25 for driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance. According to a release, a trooper was dispatched to a reckless driver on Interstate 57 southbound at mile marker 292 in Iroquois County. The trooper observed the vehicle traveling all over the road. Gray showed signs of alcohol impairment. A search of the vehicle revealed 1.9 grams of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Gray was issued tickets for improper lane usage and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Kody J. Lareau, 21, of Kankakee, on Dec. 23 for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Kankakee County at 1:08 a.m. observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed (112 mph in a 55-mph zone) on Illinois Route 17 at 5000E Road. Lareau showed signs of alcohol impairment. Lareau was issued tickets for speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lighting.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Jeremiah A. Garner, of Sumava Resorts, Ind., on Dec. 23 for driving under the influence of drugs. According to a release, a trooper on patrol in Kankakee County at 1:31 p.m. was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 114 at 13250E Road. The trooper arrived on scene but was unable to locate the driver. The trooper located Garner at a nearby bar. Garner showed signs of drug impairment. Garner was transported to Presence St. Mary’s Hospital. Garner was issued tickets for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, driving with expired license plates and leaving the scene of a property damage crash.

Illinois State Police District 21 arrested Kendall R. Kupferer, 33, of Donovan, on Dec. 22 for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to a release, a trooper was dispatched at 6:45 p.m. to a crash on Illinois Route 17 at Illinois Route 1 in Kankakee County. The trooper learned the at-fault vehicle did not stop. A Bradley police officer located the vehicle and stopped it. Kupferer showed signs of alcohol impairment. Kupferer was issued tickets for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and leaving the scene of a property damage crash.
