Miller’s Ale House To Open In W-B Twp.

WILKES-BARRE TWP. — A Florida-based restaurant chain will open in the former Logan’s Roadhouse in Wilkes-Barre Twp. that closed two years ago.

A sign in front of the restaurant says Miller’s Ale House is coming soon. Construction was underway at the site on Monday.

Wilkes-Barre Twp. zoning officer Tom Zedolik said he expects it will open in November.

“It’s another choice if you’re going out to eat. It’s something new to this area,” Zedolik said. “Anything is better than a vacant building.”

Miller’s Ale House is described on its website as a “casual sports restaurant and bar with freshly-made food at an incredible value.”

The restaurant chain’s menu includes steaks, chicken wings and hand-breaded boneless chicken “Zingers,” burgers, pasta, sandwiches, salads, soups, appetizers and desserts.

According to its website, its full-service bar features more than 75 varieties of craft, seasonal and domestic beers, specialty cocktails like watermelon margaritas and a wine selection. The restaurant also has wall-to-wall screens to watch sports.

The chain has 83 restaurants in 12 states and continues to grow, opening 8 to 10 new restaurants per year.

Miller’s Ale House has other Pennsylvania locations in Allentown, Philadelphia, Langhorne, Springfield and Willow Grove.

Jack and Claire Miller opened the first Miller’s Ale House in 1988 in Jupiter, Florida.

Miller’s Ale House recently opened in another former Logan’s Roadhouse building in Tennessee.

Logan’s Roadhouse closed abruptly in Wilkes-Barre Twp. in August 2016 after the Nashville, Tennessee-based restaurant chain filed for bankruptcy. After it closed, Texas Roadhouse opened nearby in front of Kohl’s and Sam’s Club.
