Donald O. Wilke

WATERLOO -- Donald O. Wilke, age 91, of Waterloo, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at the Dycora Hospice in Watertown.

Donald was born on June 14, 1927, in Waterloo, son of Walter and Alice (Balke) Wilke. Donald was a graduate of the Stoney Brook Country School. After graduation, Donald was hired as a farm hand, eventually owning his own farm. His other activities included driving a milk truck, and the raising and training of horses which competed in horse pulls. He also worked with Kenny Robbins fixing farm machinery and he dealt in antique farm machinery.

Donald was the beloved husband of Doris V. (Robbins) Wilke. He is survived by four sons: Jeffrey (Terri) Wilke, James (Suzy) Wilke, John (Patti) Wilke and Jody (Rojean) Wilke. He is also survived by two stepsons: Jerry (Jane) Krueger and Jody Krueger. He is further survived by six grandchildren: Jared, Skyla, Jadon, Austin, Nick and Zach. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gordon, Orlo and Dennis; and a granddaughter, Angela Krueger.

Services will be held on Thursday at St. John’s (Newville) Evangelical Lutheran Church, W8496 Parsonage Lane, Waterloo. Visitation will take place from 10-11 a.m. with services following at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Peter Wells of St. Mark’s Evangelical Church of Watertown officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service.
