Rabies Vaccination Clinic for Tewksbury Pet Owners

February 26, 2019

TEWKSBURY -- The Tewksbury Senior Center at 175 Chandler Street will hold a rabies inoculation clinic for dogs and cats on Saturday, Mar. 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In order to be given a vaccination dogs must be at least six months old and kept on a leash. Cats must be either kept in a cage or held and restrained by the owner.

The fee to receive vaccinations is $15 per dog or cat.

Owners must bring their pet’s previously-issued rabies certificate to the clinic so that veterinarians from Shawsheen Animal Hospital can determine whether the pet needs either a one- or three-year vaccination series. Pets who have previously received a three-year vaccination “at any point in the past” may receive another three-year vaccination, according to a press release from the town of Tewksbury.

The clinic will also be offering microchipping services for a fee of $20, according to Tewksbury Town Clerk Denise Graffeo.

Town Clerk staff will be present at the clinic to issue dog licenses for 2019 as well.

A notice will be posted on the town website if the clinic is cancelled due to inclement weather.
