Port Chester man charged in weekend slashing in Stamford
STAMFORD - A New York man was charged with cutting a man and a woman with a box cutter during a fight on Bedford Street early Sunday morning.
Police were dispatched with lights and sirens at 2:15 a.m. Sunday to Bedford Street near Brother Jimmy’s BBQ on the report of a woman that may have been stabbed. Officers quickly found the woman who had been sliced in the hand, according to Capt. Diedrich Hohn. Another man was found to have been assaulted by the same man.
A description was given out and the suspect, Brenden Livingston, 27, of Port Chester was quickly found in possession of a box cutter, Hohn said. Livingston was identified as the attacker by the male victim.
It appears the incident began when Livingston leaned on the male victim’s car that was parked out on the street and alcohol appears to be a factor, Hohn said.
The female was taken to Stamford Hospital for treatment. Livingston was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of peace. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
