Tenant set Lancaster County fire that damaged a house and destroyed two outbuildings, investigators say
A 30-year-old man has been accused of setting fires that damaged a house and destroyed two outbuildings Saturday evening in Lancaster County.
Christopher Svoboda, who lived at the property as a tenant, was arrested and jailed on suspicion of three counts of second-degree arson, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said.
No one was injured in the fires, which caused more than $135,600 in damage, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The State Fire Marshal determined that the fires were intentionally set. Other investigators included the Sheriff’s Office and the Lincoln Bureau of Fire Prevention. The investigation is ongoing.
The fires were reported shortly after 8 p.m. Firefighters from five local agencies helped battle the fires, and the Salvation Army offered them support.
