Portage police notebook for August 17, 2018

Between 9:34 a.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Friday police responded to 136 calls.

West Edgewater Street: Police on Tuesday at 12:12 a.m. responded to a domestic disturbance where a 21-year-old Portage woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic disorderly conduct.

MacFarlane Road: Police on Wednesday at 1:51 a.m. responded to a domestic disturbance where an 18-year-old Portage man was arrested on suspicion of domestic disorderly conduct.

Klemp Street: Police on Wednesday at 6:28 p.m. responded to a domestic disturbance in which a 48-year-old Portage man was arrested on suspicion of domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery.

Walmart: Police on Thursday at 3:48 a.m. responded to a reported theft where Amanda Berndsen, 39, of Nekoosa, was accused of retail theft and return fraud. Berndsen was arrested for violation of probation and on suspicion of retail theft, theft by misrepresentation, resisting an officer and felony bail jumping. Police are looking for Jesse Sabin, 35, of Stevens Point, who is wanted on a violation of probation warrant, and on suspicion of retail theft, theft by misrepresentation and felony bail jumping.

East Conant Street: Police on Thursday at 3:41 p.m. responded to a domestic disturbance where a 33-year-old Portage woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic disorderly conduct.

Walmart: Police on Thursday at 9:58 p.m. responded to a reported theft, where Amber Weisnicht, 28, of Almond, was arrested on a warrant and Dakota Marlow, 19, of Portage, was cited for retail theft.

New Pinery Road and East Collins Street: Police on Friday at 12:32 a.m. stopped Chad Arneson, 36, of Juneau, who was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated as a first offense, possession of marijuana as a first offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of prescription drugs and possession of a concealed knife. Arneson was also cited for driving without proof of insurance.

West Wisconsin Street: Police on Friday at 1:24 a.m. responded to a domestic disturbance where a 29-year-old Wisconsin Dells man was arrested on suspicion of domestic disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
