4 events to check out in northeast Houston this weekend
When the week ends, fun activities begin. Take a look at what you, and perhaps the entire family, can do this Saturday and Sunday.
Inaugural Humble Community Health Fair
From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, the Octavia Fields Branch Library will be the site of the first annual Humble Community Health Fair. The free-to-attend event is “designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, prevent and manage disease, and connect you to resources” with specialists available to chat and some free health screenings.
Granberry Medical Care is the event’s host. The library’s address is 1503 S Houston Ave, Humble.
‘Chronicles of Narnia’ with the A.D. Players
Beginning 2 p.m. Saturday, the Charles Bender Performing Arts Center is hosting an interactive stage rendition of the fantasy novel series from C.S. Lewis performed by members of Houston’s A.D. Players. This is one of the theater company’s many touring performances for the young, meaning it will be entertaining and educational.
Tickets, at $15 each, can be bought at the venue’s official website — humblepac.com — or at the Humble Civic Center. The venue’s address is 611 Higgins St in Humble.
Humble Blossom Festival
This two-day event, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, welcomes attendees to Humble Market to celebrate the season. Present on the day are many vendors and items to collect.
The event is also kid and pet-friendly. Humble Market’s address is 2803 FM 1960.
2019 Spring Car Show in Kingwood
Dentist Scott Mosby will host the latest iteration of his Spring Car Show from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Town Center Park. Aside from a variety of vehicles — cars and bikes both classic and modern — there will also be live music from Jimmie Hunter Band and DJ KDub.
The event is free to attend. Town Center Park’s address is 8 N Main Street in Kingwood.
