NEW YORK (AP) _ The New York Yankees set a major league record Wednesday against Minnesota by taking a lead for the 41st consecutive game, coming from behind to beat the Twins 11-2.

New York, which broke the previous record of 40 set by the 1932 Yankees, has led for at least part of every game since June 28, a 2-1 loss at the New York Mets.

The Yankees trailed 2-0 in the fourth inning before Scott Brosius' RBI single off LaTroy Hawkins and Joe Girardi's two-run double.

The Elias Sports Bureau, baseball's statistician, researched the record by reviewing the linescore of every game this century.
