Man fatally stabbed in Mississippi identified
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — A man who was fatally stabbed in Mississippi has been identified.
Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem said Friday that the victim of the stabbing Wednesday was identified as 29-year-old Nicholas McNeil of Hattiesburg.
The Hattiesburg American reports that officers learned that 55-year-old Johnny McKay had allowed the victim to stay at his apartment. An altercation occurred when McNeil was asked to leave and refused.
McNeil was taken to a hospital for treatment, but later died from his injuries. Police spokesman Ryan Moore says McKay was taken into custody at the scene and was charged with first-degree murder. It’s unclear if McKay has a lawyer who could comment.
