BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (AP) _ TriMas Corp. (TRS) on Tuesday reported second-quarter earnings of $19.6 million.

The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan-based company said it had profit of 42 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 48 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 46 cents per share.

The maker of packaging materials, aerospace components and other engineered parts posted revenue of $224.9 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $220.2 million.

TriMas expects full-year earnings to be $1.65 to $1.75 per share.

TriMas shares have risen 11 percent since the beginning of the year.
