Child Found Alone in Hot Car Dies
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) _ A 2-year-old boy died Monday, four days after he was found inside a hot car as his family attended services at a nearby mosque.
Authorities said Abdulziz Abufayyod apparently became separated from his family Friday and had returned to the car to wait. Outside temperatures at the time were in the 90s.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office didn’t immediately provide a cause of death. Authorities said the boy had been in the car for at least 15 minutes when his parents found him.
``The little boy was reported to be unconscious and sweating profusely,″ Arlington police Lt. James Hawthorne said.
At least three other Texas children have died in hot cars this year.
