China is the Largest Producer

The largest producer of kiwi fruit is China, with a total production of 2.4 million metric ton in 2016, which was more than 50% of the total global kiwi production. Kiwi is cultivated in the south-western mountainous areas and in the provinces of Shaanxi and Sichuan in China. Since kiwi is native to China, it is possible to produce more varieties of kiwi than any other country in the world. Major importers of the Chinese kiwi are Japan, Russia, Korea, and France.
