Bush Campaign Seeks D.C. Volunteers
WASHINGTON (AP) _ George W. Bush’s presidential campaign has put out an ``all hands on deck″ appeal to Washington supporters in advance of Tuesday’s Delaware primary.
``If you’re feeling left out of this year’s presidential primary season, here’s your chance to get involved,″ says an e-mail sent by Maria Cino, the political director, and other campaign officials.
``Bush for president is looking for hearty politicos to slush through the snow of Dover, Wilmington and the rest of Delaware this coming weekend.″
Sen. John McCain, who won the New Hampshire primary this week, is not competing in Delaware, but Steve Forbes is hoping to ambush Bush there.
``We are calling `all hands on deck’ to walk door to door and dial Republican households to get out the vote for Gov. Bush,″ the e-mail says.
Worried about the cost of all this volunteerism?
Not to worry _ the campaign has arranged ``a special Saturday rate″ for two Wilmington hotels.
