BC-US--Toronto Film Festival,ADVISORY, US

September 5, 2013

No other event in the world offers a better launch pad for Oscar contenders than the Toronto International Film Festival. Every best picture winner since 2007 has played at TIFF and this year should be no exception, with such buzzed about films as “The Fifth Estate,” ″August: Osage County,” ″Dallas Buyers Club,” ″Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” ″Prisoners,” ″Gravity” and “Twelve Years a Slave.”

Beginning Thursday, some 146 feature films will make their world premiere at the 10-day festival and the AP will be there with daily coverage across all formats, including interviews with the top stars and filmmakers, and spot coverage of major premieres and news conferences. Watch your AP digests and advisories for daily updates on what is planned for text, photos and video.
