Police name guard shot at North Carolina sweepstakes parlor
BURLINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Police have released the name of a guard who was shot and killed during a robbery at a sweepstakes parlor in North Carolina.
Burlington Sgt. Michael Grusky said in a news release that 25-year-old Michael Thomas Le of Greensboro died in the shooting Sunday night.
Police say the guard had been beaten and shot in the back and an employee and customer had been shot in the head.
Le was pronounced dead on arrival at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. Police say his gun had been stolen.
The injured customer and employee were treated and released from the hospital.
Police say three suspects ran from the building and then left in a dark car. No arrests have been made.
