PSP Adds 9 New Troopers In County

WILKES-BARRE — Pennsylvania State Police have added nine new troopers to barracks in Luzerne County. The troopers from the 153rd graduating cadet class are among 99 new troopers assigned to troops across the state. Six of them received special awards upon completing the 27-week training period, including two from Luzerne County: Nicholas Manganiello received the Colonel Ronald L. Sharpe Award for leadership and Robert M. Phillips received the Sergeant Charles B. Gesford Award for scoring highest with a pistol during training. Phillips is assigned to Troop P in Wyoming, while Manganiello is assigned to Troop N in Hazleton. Also stationed in Hazleton are: Joseph J. Campano of Luzerne County, Salvatore C. Corma of Wayne County, Bradley M. Emerick of Luzerne County, Ryan D. English of Luzerne County, Casey M. Foster of Lackawanna County, Shane W. McGarr of Lackawanna County and Sarah E.
