UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) _ Brazil's Pretinha scored in the 15th minute and LaKeysia Beene made four saves for her WUSA-record ninth career shutout as San Jose beat New York 1-0 on Sunday.

Pretinha took a pass from Brazilian compatriot Katia and beat goalkeeper Nicole Williams with a low shot.

The CyberRays (2-2), who have beaten the Power 1-0 in all four of their regular-season meetings in the two-year history of the league, held off New York (1-3) in the final four minutes.

In the 86th minute, the Power's Tiffeny Milbrett dribbled along the edge of the box and sent in a cross that was cleared out.

In the 88th, Linda Ormen directed a cross for Milbrett. Beene sprawled out and the ball bounced over Milbrett and out of danger.

A crowd of 4,016 fans attended the game at Mitchel Field.
